4. Lesson or program objectives (what will the learner know following the training)

The trainee will be able to:

o Create and modify text
o Explore the functions of the text edit toolbox
o Use the recognition tool

5. Learning activities (what engaging activities will you be including)

The activities included will be interactive training where the trainees are asked to come up to the Promethean board and use the equipment as this is the only way to become comfortable with it. The trainees will be shown a Promethean presentation at the beginning of the class that is attention grabbing and would be great to use in the classroom so as to peak their interest in the subject matter. They are doing hands-on hybrid instruction. There are portions where the instructor is demonstrating and then portions where the participants are practicing.

6. Media requirements (what will your visuals be? if included in the technology then you might want to include it here)

The media requirements are several Promethean presentations that were created using the techniques to be learned in this lesson. Also included will be several tutorials from the website
www.atomiclearning.com.

7. Summary (give an overview of what you are doing, if included with learning activities then skip)

The training will start off with an attention grabbing Promethean presentation, and then the trainees will be shown how to use the Promethean software. As the trainees are shown how to use the software, they will be asked along the way to use it so that the instructors can see they have a firm understanding before moving on. The training will also have the hands-on hybrid instruction where the instructor demonstrates at times and then the participants are practicing at other times. The trainees will be using the computer labs as well as going up to the Promethean board to show an understanding of the material as well.

8. Formative Assessments/Questions & Answers (what questions will you prompt your students to check their understanding)

The trainees will be asked to replicate the techniques shown in the lesson as they are learning them that day in the media center. They will be asked to show how to add text, edit text, use the recognition tool and everything else that was in the topics to be covered section.

9. Trainee Evaluation (how will their competence/knowledge be assessed? how will you determine this training was successful?)

The training will be considered successful if the trainees can successfully replicate all the techniques shown in the lesson. This would be measured by watching the trainees demonstrate the concepts during class and seeing if they implement these techniques into their training.

10. Follow-up (what is next after this specific lesson? next lesson?)

This lesson would be followed up with the lesson on using more tools from your toolbox. I should also note that this training is a “chunk” from the middle of the training that would be preceded by another introductory topic.
